Transwersalna racjonalność jako teoria relacji międzykulturowych

Transformations in the cultural sphere such as globalization cause researchers to be forced to develop a new coherent approach in order not to lose the cultural identity of nations in the face of otherness: religious, linguistic, moral and axiological diversity. The solution to this problem may be a concept that, on the one hand, will enable relative autonomy of views in all domains of human life, and, on the other hand, will expand the space of intercultural discourses. These two reasons seem to be sufficient to justify the introduction of the concept of transversal rationality into the theory of cultural studies. The purpose of this article is to present the concept of transversal rationality, which was created by the American researcher C.O. Schrag. An argument may be put forward that the concept of transversal rationality can be used in research on the individual intellectual development of a human being, but also to study the cultural development of a community. In the concept of C.O. Schrag, transversality is the dynamic that drives communicative action. The human being as a “transversal agent” who acts in the field of cultural spheres, which include: religion, morality, art and science, create a community that always has an ethical dimension. As Schrag proves, a series of interactions (discursive, interpretative, transversal) at the micro and macro social levels build intercultural relations.Przeobrażenia w sferze kulturowej – takie jak choćby globalizacja – powodują, że badacze są zmuszeni wypracować nowe, spójne podejście, aby w obliczu konfrontacji z innością/ różnorodnością religijną, językową, obyczajową, aksjologiczną nie zatracić odrębności kulturowej narodów. Rozwiązaniem tego problemu może być koncepcja, która z jednej strony będzie umożliwiać względną autonomię poglądów we wszystkich domenach ludzkiego życia, a z drugiej strony będzie poszerzać przestrzeń międzykulturowych dyskursów. Te dwa powody wydają się w sposób wystarczający uzasadniać wprowadzenie do teorii badań nad kulturą pojęcia transwersalnej racjonalności. Celem niniejszego artykułu jest zaprezentowanie tej właśnie koncepcji, której twórcą jest amerykański badacz C.O. Schrag. Możemy postawić tezę, że dzięki użyciu koncepcji transwersalnej racjonalności da się podjąć badania nad indywidualnym intelektualnym rozwojem człowieka, ale też może ona posłużyć do badań nad rozwojem kulturowym społeczności. W koncepcji C.O Schraga transwersalność jest dynamiką, która napędza działanie komunikacyjne. Człowiek jako „wielowymiarowy sprawca” działa w obszarze sfer kulturowych, do których zaliczane są: religia, moralność, sztuka i nauka, tworząc wspólnotę mającą zawsze wymiar etyczny. Jak dowodzi Schrag, szereg interakcji (dyskursywnych, interpretacyjnych, transwersalnych) na poziomie mikro- i makrospołecznym buduje relacje międzykulturowe
