Abstract. This paper intended to provide a critical analysis of the efforts to contextualise the Gospel through the practice of rumengkom by Minahasa Christians. Eating together or rumengkom for the Minahasa community has a special meaning and is indirectly interpreted as a form of theological expression typical of the Minahasa community. As time goes by, the church gives a different meaning to the practice by understanding it as a form of contextualisation of the Gospel.
