BackgroundAccurate surveillance of livestock antibiotic usage (ABU) at the farm level is an increasingly important part of national antibiotic stewardship initiatives. Numerous ABU indicators or metrics have been developed in Europe and North America but the comparability of these metrics is poorly understood.
