The Franco-Swiss Geneva conurbation: a conflict between neighbours or a reconstruction of territory? — A Livre Blanc de l'aménagement du territoire was published in 1993 about the Franco-Swiss Geneva conurbation. Although this sample of urban planning gives a seemingly non-political account of relationships between local authorities, they appear, on closer examination, to be based on conflicting logics of spatial planning and development. For example some of the very ambitious projects mentioned in the document chiefly aim at solving the "neighbourhood conflict" between the Geneva canton on the one hand, and the Vaud canton and French départements of Ain and Haute-Savoie on the other.
