Railway knots : a residual phenomemon or major joci of regional space ? The French railway system offers a certain number of strong points, among which the quality of equipment and of service is justified not by the size of the town served (generally very small) but by internal technical reasons. The capital inherent to these knots is often neglected and has yet to be exploited as best as possible.
