O comportamento em informação de mulheres vítimas de violência doméstica: análise das barreiras sociais de acesso à informação na perspectiva de Chatman

It examines the characteristics of information behavior of women victims of domestic violence in relation to social barriers to accessing information. Specifically, it describes the circumstances that encouraged women victims of domestic violence to seek information. The reflections of this research mention the works developed in the area of Information Science by Chatman. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews with two professionals from the Centro das Mulheres do Cabo and with four women victims of domestic violence who sought care there. The data obtained were examined in the light of content analysis. The study highlighted the social issues that cross information flows, in addition to the social norms that shape the information behavior of women victims of domestic violence, explained in the naturalization of this cruelty, in the maintenance of secrecy about their information needs and self-protection resources. adopted. O estudo evidenciou as questões sociais que atravessam os fluxos informacionais, além das normas sociais que conformam o comportamento em informação das mulheres vítimas de violência doméstica, explicitadas na naturalização dessa crueldade, na manutenção do sigilo acerca de suas necessidades em informação e nos recursos de autoproteção adotados.
