MITIGASI KONFLIK MANUSIA DENGAN GAJAH SUMATERA (Elephas Maximus Sumatranus, Temminck 1847) DI DESA BINAAN LAPINDO KABUPATEN MUKOMUKO PROVINSI BENGKULU

Thisstudyaims to determine the pattern  of human-elephant conflict  inLapindoAssistedVillage,Mukomuko,Bengkulu Indonesia,  the impactof conflict, factorscausing conflict,  the estimatedvalueof  economiclossesdueto conflict and  conflictmitigationactionstakenbythecommunity. Data was  collectedusingtheSnowballsamplingmethod, by interviewing, giving questionnaires and doing observations. Data was  analyzeddescriptivelyqualitativelyandquantitatively.Thehuman-elephantconflictis in a form of competition  inthe use of resources, especially the use of forests.  The competition caused anegativeimpactonsocial,economicaspectsofhumansandecologyinelephants.Theimpactcausedby the conflictthatoccurredwasthedestructionof palm oil plantationandgardenhuts,duetothe activities of the elephants.The main factorcausing the conflict is the damage of elephanthomerange area, at IpuhIWaterHPT,  causedbyforestencroachment Key word: Elephant, conflict, Lapindo Assisted Village
