This paper aims at structuring the economic and political relationship of recently nationalized French corporations with both the National Plan and world markets. It begins with an analysis of the challenge of creating and preserving wealth given the dynamics of economic value in today's markets. Then it analyses the hybrid economic specie that France is experimenting with, which is supposed to capitalize at the same time on both the dynamism of the market and on the expected benefits of a planned economy. In this framework the public corporation interacts with the market for goods and services (supplies and sales), but its structure is withdrawn from both financial and labor markets.
