Abbaye Saint-Georges-de-Boscherville : de la collégiale à l'abbaye bénédictine (XIème-XVIème siècles)

Since 1978, excavations have been carried out in the abbey of St-Georges in St-Martin-de-Boscherville (district of Duclair, locality of Rouen). These works have permitted to bring to light and study two religious establishments which have followed each other : a collegiate founded in 1055, and a benedictine abbey built on the same site in 1113. These searches have underscored the superposition of three groups of monastic buildings, which have succeeded one another between the eleventh and the thirteenth century. The excavations have brought new elements about rural collegiate and their conversion into monastic establisments. They fit in with a search program concerning the building of religious communities in Upper Normandy.Depuis 1978, des fouilles archéologiques extensives ont eu lieu à l'abbaye St-Georges à St-Martin-de- Boscherville (canton de Duclair, arrondissement de Rouen). Ces travaux ont permis la mise au jour et l'étude de deux établissements religieux successifs : une collégiale fondée en 1055, une abbaye bénédictine installée sur le même site en 1113. Ces recherches ont mis en évidence la superposition de trois ensembles claustraux qui se sont succédé entre le XIème et le XIIIème siècle. La fouille a apporté des éléments nouveaux sur les collégiales rurales et leur transformation en établissement monastique. Elle s'inscrit dans un programme de recherche sur les établissements religieux communautaires de la Haute-Normandie.Wasylyszyn Nicolas.
