Studies on the glass industry in Normandy mention the production of blown glass but little is known about it. The Musée Départemental des Antiquités de Rouen contains a collection of glass fragments which can give an initial insignt into the glass produced in the region. The collection consists of samples picked up in urban excavation during the second half of the nineteenth century in the northwest sector of the city limited by its second boundary. Although there are few complete forms present, there are nonetheless pieces of 431 glasses. The type the most frequently represented is a drinking glass.
