The site of Le Bois-de-la-Chaize (Noirmoutier island, France) probably contains two palaeolithic occupations, this hypothesis being supported by typology and sedimentological analysis. The industry fom the lower level, characterized by the présence of pebble-tools, is linked to the "Saint-Colomban Group" (archaic industries with pebble-tools, contemporaneous with the Acheulian).
