Demography in the Southern Mediterranean Countries in the XXIst Century. The concern embedded in the whereabouts of the demographic growth of the Southern shore of the Mediterranean sea has slightly abated. Yet, the population projections which are currently produced by the United Nations, away from the field, with much too often very outdated data and through a globalizing approach, did not always contribute to ease the debate. This article reviews the current population projections by means of a more refined methodology and thanks to the most up-to-date statistics.
