Technical and microwear data indicate that the blades and blade tools of the Linear Band Ceramic industry (Ancient Neolithic) of Belgium were hafted. Observations made on archaeological specimens suggest that hafting was of a loose type, consisting of a piece of hide wrapped around the basis of the blades, the whole being inserted within a hard handle. However, experimentation failed to reproduce such traces visible on the archaeological artifacts. The time required for the formation of such traces is likely to be much longer than that for the development of wear traces.Données techniques et tracéologiques convergent pour indiquer que les lames et outils sur lames du Rubané (Néolithique ancien) de Belgique étaient emmanchés.
