The monument we intend to study is situated inside the low surrounding wall of the oppidum of Castellas, in Murviel-lès- Montpellier (1st century B.C.). The first remains found correspond to an esplanade surrounded south by a retaining wall of 20 meters long. This wall is supported by abutments forming a dozen of recesses situated below the esplanade along a paved street. Then, five of these recesses were filled and at the same time walls were built on a rectangular design alike a temple, of 20 meters long by 10 meters wide, with a North/South orientation; on each side of the façade was probably built a porch on a semi-circular design.
