Comment on devient un «buveur normal ». Étude sur la construction sociale d’une norme

This survey is about the social construction of a norm which is that of «drinking well ». We try to show that, far from being only a regrettable failure of the more or less heroic model that the « normal drinker » is in our society, the alcoholic or the drunkard is also a figure that contributes in a reflexive way to the cognitive and normative elaboration of the concept of « drinking well ». A model built on the basis of a case study is proposed in order to give an account of the social and psychological mechanisms of the social construction of the « normal drinker »Cette étude porte sur la construction sociale d’une norme : le « bien boire ». On essaie de montrer que, loin de ne constituer qu’un échec regrettable du modèle plus ou moins héroïque que serait dans notre société le «buveur normal », l’alcoolique ou l’ivrogne constitue aussi une figure qui contribue réflexivement à l’élaboration cognitive et normative du «bien boire ». Un modèle construit sur la base d’une étude de cas est proposé pour rendre compte des mécanismes psychiques et sociaux de cette construction sociale du « buveur normal »
