This survey is about the social construction of a norm which is that of «drinking well ». We try to show that, far from being only a regrettable failure of the more or less heroic model that the « normal drinker » is in our society, the alcoholic or the drunkard is also a figure that contributes in a reflexive way to the cognitive and normative elaboration of the concept of « drinking well ».
