We briefly review the recent results of the stability analysis of the Schwarzschild metric with either positive or negative mass parameter. For the positive mass (black hole) case, the metric is shown to be stable in arbitrary number of spacetime dimensions. For the (nakedly singular) negative mass case, we find that there always exists at lest one physically preferred boundary condition, and under that boundary condition, the nakedly singular metric is stable
