Heat capacity and magnetization measurements on the title compounds revealed that they are very good approximations of a ferromagnetic S = 1 2 Heisenberg chain system. The small anisotropy present in these compounds gives rise to very pronounced cross-over effects. In CHAC, the cross-over temperature is increased by a magnetic field parallel to the easy axis.</p
