The aim of this paper is to examine what charakteristic R. M. Hare's ‘two level theory’and its recent revision have in relation to the power of judgment. The results are as follows : Hare’s main line of thought in Moral Thinking (1980) hardly seems to have any close relationship with the power of judgment or the narrative thoey. And yet it is suggestive that he counted ‘those common to particular roles’ and ‘those personal to individuals’ in subcategories of the moral principles of intuitive level and mentioned that ‘there are many more ways than one of being a saint, or even a moderately good man’.
