In this paper, I indicate the following: (1) manual and technical education are necessary in compulsory education and manual education should be closely related to technical education; (2) in accordance with reports already given, I support the above mentioned point theoretically; (3) the present handicraft education in elementary school is art education, so that manual and technical education are not given in elementary school; (4) I elucidate that woodworking is suitable for manual and technical education by taking up sawing learning of wood
