Interaction analysis categories are a means to classify verbal interaction in the classroom. By these we can make clear not only types of verbal behavior used in the classroom, but also the frequencies of different behavior and the influence of one behavior on the other in the sequence of verbal interaction. One of the well-known systems to analyze the verbal interaction between teacher and pupils is Flanders' Interaction Analysis Categories System.
