Micro-électronique en Provence. Une redéfinition de l'industrie par le territoire

The aim of this article is to study microelectronic in Provence, through a reflection on the definition of industry. Our opinion is that the idea of industry should not be limited to the production of material goods, but has to include also the actors of development. We are going to observe the dialectics between industrial and institutionnal actors. The practice of managers of building an environment favourable to the new stage of their growth is based on a strategy of territorial anchorage. Thus territory appeared as a component of the definition of the industrial process.Le but de cet article est d'analyser la microélectronique provençale, à travers une réflexion sur la définition du fait industriel. Notre approche s'éloigne d'une conception de l'industrie identifiée par son seul segment producteur de biens matériels, pour l'élargir notamment aux acteurs du développement. Nous observerons la dialectique qui s'instaure entre acteurs industriels et acteurs institutionnels. La pratique des industriels, pour construire un environnement propice à la nouvelle étape de leur croissance, repose désormais sur une stratégie d'ancrage. La dimension territoriale apparaît ainsi comme un des éléments constitutifs du processus industriel et de sa dynamique.Daviet Sylvie. Micro-électronique en Provence.
