This article presents a progress report on archaeological fieldwork carried out on the southern flank of Montagne Sainte-Victoire following the forest fire of 1990. The work to date has led to the identification of a significant number of new sites and has modified in important respects the traditional picture of human occupation and exploitation of the mountain. The revised archaeological map presents three hilltop villages (essentially of La Tene III date) in their wider environmental and settlement context.
