The hydrosedimental functionning of the Holocen Rhone and its role in the delta evolution since the first millenium ap. J.C., have been apprehended by the alluvial clastic sediments analysis of two palaeochannels : Ulmet Rhone (end of the Antiquity), Bras de Fer Rhone (18th century). Fluvial dynamics of these two periods have been compared with those of the actual Rhone. We found several fluvial metamorpphosis of the Rhone in its deltaïc plain. One of them is linked to the «Little Ice Age» climatic pejoration accentuated, without doubt, by human impacts.
