The Holocene morphogenesis of the Alpilles hills (lower Provence, France) is compared to the alpine model, which opposes a «main postglacial infilling» stopping during the middle Holocene to deposits scarce during the recent Holocene. Chronological coincidences are identified in spite of the important topographical and geological differences, even if the recent Holocene deposits are more widespread and better studied than the old Holocene ones in lower Provence.
