We present a general method for determining the eigenfrequency bandstructure and polarizations in a rotating ring resonator containing several optical components such as a Faraday rotator, partial reflector, linear and/or circular phase retarders. The method uses a 4×4 matrix formalism based on reflection-transmission considerations for polarized waves.</p
