Collagen fibre remodelling is a strain dependent process which is stimulated by the degradation of existing collagen. To date, literature has focussed on strain dependent degradation of pure collagen or structurally simple collagenous tissues, often overlooking degradation within more complex, heterogenous soft tissues.
