Es ist offensichtlich, dass diese gewaltigen Mengen an Daten effektive und genaue computer-gestützte Methoden zur Sequenzanalyse erfordern. Diese werden benötigt, um eines der wichtigsten Probleme der Bioinformatik zu lösen: die akkurate Lokalisation von Genen auf der DNA.
