The Software/Hardware Engineering (SHE) method is a system-level design methodology that assists a designer in constructing executable models based on a modeling language known as Parallel Object-Oriented Specification Language (POOSL) and by two different tools: SHESim and Rotalumis. The tools are quite powerful but there are several shortcom-ings which affect the user experience and the usability aspect. This report describes the de-sign and implementation of a User Interaction Layer (UIL) for POOSL. The UIL consists of a textual editor which allows easy model creation following the POOSL language structure. In addition, it performs validation and type checks as well as providing correct scope in different aspects of the model
