De l'Esprit

The term «spirit» is used here to refer to the dynamism which underpins the desire for truth, the capacity to act in the practical field and basic moral feelings. In the three areas the spirit manifests itself firstly through the dialectic between the unity of a generative act and the multiplicity of the theoretical, practical or ethical objects in which this unity is dispersed and brought together again. Furthermore, the same movement exists between the suprapersonal unity of the desire for truth, the capacity to act and the strength to love, and, on the other hand, the multiplicity of those searching truth, of agents of social interaction and of protagonists in the search for justice. Dans les trois domaines l'esprit se manifeste d'abord par la dialectique entre l'unité d'un acte générateur et la multiplicité des objets théoriques, pratiques ou éthiques dans lesquels cette unité se disperse et se rassemble.
