Efforts to implement continuum damage models in forming simulations are hampered by the absence of experimental techniquesto provide reliable and accurate damage-evolution parameters. The widely used indentation approach, whereby deformationinduceddamage is quantified through the degradation of indentation hardness and modulus, was shown to be intrinsically deficient(Tasan et al. [18]). Here, a new indentation-based methodology is developed and evaluated, allowing damage-induced degradationof hardness and modulus as a reliable probe for damage quantification
