In this paper, we discuss the problem of the representation of the grammaticographical textual genre across time. The choice to deal with this topic derives from the observation that there are no truly comprehensive studies on this subject, but only analyses of the work of individual authors who, although certainly useful, lack in defining a true common framework of this peculiar textual genre. We focus the attention of our research on Spanish grammars for Italian speakers published between the XVI and XIX centuries.
