This article defines the reference frame of an applied ethno-anthropological research specifically focused on the issues of behavioral addictions and gambling. Through a review of the reference literature and taking a cue from a critical-retrospective reading of the authors’ participation in a prevention project against pathological gambling in the Palermo context, some axioms are defined for a laboratory research-intervention hypothesis from a pedagogical and anthropological view
