Antonio Allegra’s “Visioni Transumane” discusses some important aspects of Transhumanism and Posthumanism. Through a critical confrontation with the author I try to develop some reflections on 1) the relashionship between evolutionary theory and transhuman narration; 2) the topic of human enhancement; 3) Habermas’ objections to human enhancement; 4) the social objection to human enhancement. I substantly agree with Allegra’s ideas about Transhumanism (in particular, the focus on the religious vocation of this movement). However, I suggest a more cautious approach to Transuhumanism itself.
