In this article, the author aims to analyse La novia del viento, the first novel by the vanguard spanish novelist Benjamín Jarnés, published during his Mexican exile in 1940. Based in an old story first-published in 1926, La novia del viento marks an axis between his so-called "deshumanized" writing before the civil war and his exile production, drawing a continous line with the short stories written during the war.
