Le commerce extérieur polonais : résultats et stratégie

Poland's foreign trade performance and policy changes This paper discusses the recent development trends in Poland's export and import performance. Special emphasis has also been given to the precarious external economic situation of the country as well as to recent policy changes in Poland's foreign trade regime. The present economic reforms in Poland are mainly aimed at making the existing system more efficient. Poland must simply find a way to produce more and expand its exports to the rest of the world. This could be attained through further liberalization of the external trade regime and introduction of market mechanism into the existing « mixed » economic system. The recent development trends in Polish exports to the West confirm that the present structural adjustment and export-oriented economic policy have already brought about their first fruit, i.e. enabled an expansion of both exports and imports to that area.L'article est consacré aux tendances récentes des exportations et importations polonaises. La situation précaire des échanges avec l'extérieur et les changements intervenus ces dernières années dans le système du commerce extérieur polonais font l'objet d'une attention toute particulière. Le principal objectif des réformes économiques en cours en Pologne est de rendre le système plus efficace. La Pologne doit trouver le moyen de produire davantage et d'accroître ses exportations vers le reste du monde. Elle pourrait y parvenir en libéralisant encore plus son système de commerce extérieur et en introduisant les mécanismes de marché dans le système économique « mixte » qui existe actuellement. Les tendances récentes du développement des exportations polonaises vers l'Occident montrent que les ajustements structurels et la politique orientée vers l'exportation portent déjà leurs premiers fruits puisqu'ils ont permis d'accroître tant les exportations que les importations avec cette région du monde.Gwiazda Adam.
