Soviet Economies and Soviet Economists. Some Random Observations. The author presents the ideas of some contemporary Soviet economists, omitting some of the best-known names. These include reform theorists (Petrakov, Karagedov, Kazakevich), who discuss a radical change in methods of management and in pricing. While emphasising the role of profit, they show a realistic sense of the limitations of the market mechanism and of mathematical methods.
