Assessing the Effects of Technical Progress by Means of the Cobb-Douglas Production Function. The author demonstrates how present economic conditions can be adapted to the equation elaborated by Cobb and Douglas in 1927, which did not take into account the effects of technical and organizational progress, and proposes an economic interpretation of the function. Subsequently, the problem of verification of the production function as applied to statistical data on Polish economic development between 1951-1970 is treated.
