This study examine the progressive comprehension that children of different ages have of stories presented to them in a visual way. To this end, a very simple animation film was showed to some children (N = 100) aged from 2 ; 6 to 12 ; 0. The first task that was asked of them was to spontaneously tell the story that they had just viewed — immediate memory task. Then, they were asked to expand upond their initial story with the help of an adult proving for further descriptive material. Finally, they had to make a lask narration of the story — reconstitution situation — with the support of five photos of the film.
