The paper focus on the ways in which specialized educators and technical educators differ when they evaluate the likelihood that a mentally deficient child adapt to the curriculum of the institution in which they work. The methodological framework of the study is Social Judgment Theory. The hypothesis was that a) specialized educators would give more weight in their judgments to the personality-type elements of the profile of the child than the technical educators and, b) technical educators would give more weight to the efficiency- type elements.
