The present study is aiming at comparing the behaviors and interactions mother/ new-born, observed on the 4th or 5th day after birth, while the mother is breast-feeding her baby. The observations were carried on in three different obstetrical departments. One of these uses methods concerning birth which are said to be « traditional » (delivery with predominant medical concern, breast-feeding at preset hours, baby care preferentially taken over by nursing staff...). The other two obstetrical départements have introduced conditions favoring better surroundings during pre-, neo- and post-natal periods (prenatal preparation, both physical and psychological, baby laid on the mother's belly right after delivery, mother and father encouraged to ...
