Aristotle's abiding and pervasive influence on modern English philosophy can hardly be explained in terms of a methodological sympathy; rather — and simply — his philosophical interests are often identical with ours, and he prosecutes those interests with a rare genius. The subject of « practical logic » provides an illustration (of minuscule extent) of the way in which Aristotelian insights may guide and stimulate our own philosophical cogitations.L'influence d'Aristote sur la philosophie anglo-saxonne d'aujourd'hui est profonde. On ne doit pas l'expliquer en s'imaginant une sympathie méthodologique : on remarquera, plus simplement, qu'Aristote était un penseur de génie dont les intérêts s'entrecroisent souvent avec les nôtres.
