ABSTRACT: In the first part of this article, I qualify the objectivism attributed to cognitive linguistics by J.-M. Fortis. If space has an important role in my description of prepositions, this is not through its geometry or topology but through functional concepts related to our experience of the world. The second part of the article shows that the description of the preposition dans by topological inclusion leads to a «ghostly» ontology. After a brief presentation of the theory of place in Greek physics (the Atomists, Aristotle and Philoponus), I propose four fundamental relationships between space and matter.
