SUMMARY Since the early 1950's, the Creuse Department has known a flow of settling agricultural workers originating from the Armorican boundaries. Family helps, young farmers left the west where the pressure of population was strong to settle in an aged region. They where attracted by the possibility of a better land market and the prospect of some social climbing.
