SUMMARY The Brianle, affluent of the Sarthe in the « Plain » of Alengon, knew a complicated fluvial evolution, which is connected to the Sarthe system. The alluvium, made of a succession of fitted terraces, constituted itself in a tectonic hallow. The most ancient fluvial sheets are dating from the Pliocene (organic- detritic sediments). A succession of fluvial sheets materialize four levels (IV : early Quaternary characterized by very weathering sandstone and quartzitic boulders.
