This paper is a critical review of the varions studies on sociability in museums. The studies are grouped into four différent approaches: the biological, the anthropological, the cognitive and the interpretative model. It demonstrates that in most cases, the social, the cognitive and the interpretative aspects of interaction between visitors are opposed to one another rather than taken as a whole. By indicating the set of conditions underlying them, the author integrates these three components into a single unified theory about the sharing of knowledge in public places. On this basis, a new "semio-cognitive" approach is put forward.Ce texte offre une analyse critique de l'ensemble des études ayant abordé le thème de la sociabilité au musée....
