This article has two objectives : - to show how the concept of "milieu for study", emerging from a systemic definition, furthers the understanding of study actions and the description of their organization ; - to show that comparative didactic analysis contributes to this understanding. In this context, homework is considered as an auxiliary didactic system in which the student can construct or reconstruct an academic environment. If the nature of environment and the process of construction is dependant on the subject matters (in this case, mathematics and history), the first results suggest that the contruction of an auxiliary milieu is strongly related to the pupil's position inside the classroom (ie. the main aidact system).
