The French school system and schooling of high school and college female students : role of educational career guidance. - For more than 20 years, there are more girls than boys passing the baccalauréat. Nevertheless, evidence is yet to be seen of extensive access by women to the most qualified positions. But it is only in a particular school context that these factors find their meaning : a system of hierarchical and dovetailed paths, where the rule of the game is to be excellent in some specific school disciplines.
