Economic aspects of the traffic situation and driver behaviour

The bachelor thesis deals with roundabout rules and calculates the cost of waiting when entering a roundabout. It also focuses mainly on people entering and exiting the roundabout. The theoretical part defines the basic concepts related to traffic, driver behaviour and roundabouts. The practical part itself consists of an introduction to the city Tábor and the three roundabouts located there, which is one of the most important parts of this bachelor thesis. For the purpose of the evaluation of the thesis it was necessary to obtain records of the roundabouts. As a next step, an evaluation of where the some freely available traffic census data from the Directorate of Roads and Motorways from the year 2020, and together with the data from the video recordings of the roundabouts, the formulas are used to calculate the total actual and societal costs. At the end of the work it was possible improvement measures in the form of road markings were identified and then, together with the social costs, it was assessed whether the acquisition of traffic signs would be worthwhile
