Objectives This article investigates the socio-political challenges in South Sudan, its main causes and outcomes of the civil war crisis. Apart from that, efforts of regional and international organizations such as African Union (AU), United Nations (UN), the Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD), their individual and collective involvement regarding search for last solution during the ongoing civil war will be explored .
