There has been a great deal of work published regarding the theoretical aspects of diffusion phenomena in the liquid layer, formed at the metal/solution interface during electropolishing, but a full explanation of the relationship between this layer and any solid surface film, and the possible practical implications of such studies is yet to be successfully achieved.
